Launched in 2006, the Avalon Tapestry® was one of the first river cruise holiday ships to feature an innovative new design, with the navigational bridge at the stern. This design means that the public areas of the ship have a much more spacious and airy feel, with the lounge and restaurant in particular benefitting from a position right at the front of the ship with unimpeded views of the river landscape as you cruise. In addition, the Sky Deck, stretching out in front of the bridge, is huge, giving plenty of space to soak up the sun, stroll around and take pictures or simply just relax at a table with friends. The Avalon Tapestry® offers a level of river cruise dining, in elegant surroundings, which will surpass your expectations. The Avalon Tapestry® features a silent drive system (SDS) with the engines located at the stern, separated from the passenger decks designed to limit engine noise and allowing for a quieter cruise experience than traditional small ships.
