"excellent holiday"

"Polite, knowledgeable, helpful..."

8th September 2018 - Mrs Alyson Davies

Polite, knowledgeable, helpful

Truly exceptional, from the accommodation to the food, the tour director to the on board staff. Tony, the cruise director was fantastic and was wonderful with my mother, who has trouble walking for long periods, always ensuring she was catered for on trips. Staff in the restaurant and bar were excellent, entertaining and attentive, in particular Josef and Teodor deserve special mention. The cabin was exactly as described and the beds extremely comfortable. Housekeeping staff kept it immaculate. We couldn’t have wished for anything more.

"Second cruise with Avalon and whole experience was excellent"

"Great holiday"

6th September 2018 - Trusted Customer

They assisted in the purchase and called back when they had agreed to I would book again with them and recommend them

Fabulous cabin , great staff and wonderful places to visit on the river route - also fabulous trips included in the holiday and not forgetting the excellent meals

"Pleasant and efficient but disappointed about the flight choice"

1st September 2018 - Trusted Customer

I was a little disappointed that we could not get a direct flight to Nice from North west England when there was a direct flight available but is not an airline that Avalon would use (admittedly it was easyjet from Liverpool) but that's still better than two flights on a better airline from Manchester, for such a short hop. A very early start that morning. Otherwise the booking was very pleasant and efficient.

Absolutely fantastic! There was a lot of sightseeing to do so quite a few early mornings but plenty to go and see. The food and wine was superb and the food seemed endless, from breakfast until snacks in the lounge at 22:30. We met lots of lovely people and had a great time.

"No fuss quick and easy telephone booking - yes would recommend..."

26th July 2018 - Mr Stuart Rivers

No fuss quick and easy telephone booking - yes would recommend

Food could have been better quality at dinner - night time in house entertainment very poor - musical content needs updating and entertainer must at least look like he’s enjoying it! Tours at 8.30 too early. Otherwise very enjoyable, very friendly atmosphere and well organised

"Overall very good but just short of 5 star rating."

5th October 2017 - Mrs Dianne Ennew

Food was very good although the service was at times lacking high standard and waiters generally service oriented. However one waiter was patently bored, poorly organised and surly with little interaction with guests. Stateroom housekeeping was particularly good and personal housekeeper Anna was deserving of praise. Upon arrival in Paris some rooms were available, but many were diverted to the bar with a drink voucher. This was very disappointing as we waited '3/4 of an hour after a very long day and I was in the midst of a migraine. I fail to see how a hotel which claims 5 star service and with plenty of advance booking failed in this department. The Avalon rep at the hotel was unsympathetic, blaming the hotel for the situation. Most guides on tours were excellent although 2 made some guests feel insignificant with their manner of speaking to them, to the extent that questions were asked as in a test to see how well the group had been listening to their guiding. Very off putting.

Visit to Pont du Gard was excellent. Guide was very good and sufficient independent time for visiting museum and Pont.

"Efficient and friendly"

4th October 2017 - Trusted Customer

Plenty of info, very precise. Staff always friendly and helpful. Excellent food and service .

An exciting holiday for those of an older generation.

"Busy, relaxed, comfortable and stimulating"

21st September 2017 - Mr Gregory Peters

Not sure how broad the term service is, but I really cannot fault anything.

Great introduction for our first cruise of this type.
