"Overall very good but just short of 5 star rating."
"Efficient and friendly"
all good from home pick up to home drop off.
"Busy, relaxed, comfortable and stimulating"
Not sure how broad the term service is, but I really cannot fault anything.
Great introduction for our first cruise of this type.
"All happened as it should have...."
All happened as it should have.
Great trip, good on board experience, interesting included trips.
"Cruise terrific: Pre-cruise customer service poor "
Pre-cruise the Customer Service from the UK office was a mixture of initially good, then very poor when dealing with the non-delivery of the dozen wine included in the special offer deal.
Telephone calls from Australia had to be made several times to try and obtain a response, and eventually the offer of a rather unsatisfactory GBP50 voucher towards a future Avalon/Globus holiday was made!
On the cruise, we had a most enjoyable time with cruise director John Lou being very efficient and all the crew members were very friendly and helpful.
All the tours were well organised, with good and informative guides and everything went like a well oiled machine.
Apart from the pre-cruise service, we would have rated you a lot higher and would be happy to recommend Avalon to our friends.
We upgraded to what was described as a stateroom with a balcony and full picture sliding window. The description is false advertising as there was NO balcony, only some bars across as a barrier to prevent someone from falling out when the sliding window was opened. Otherwise, the cruise was very enjoyable, with what appeared to be a happy team of polite and helpful crew. The "Affinity" needs some upgrading of the public area furniture and the quality of the external entertainers needs to be greatly improved, were negatives which didn't spoil the overall good experience. The final 2 nights in Paris could probably be improved, plus the 1st 2 nights/days in Monte Carlo, which involved a lot of time travelling before getting to Arles. Food was good, well varied and plentiful and the bar staff were also good. Although mostly unseen, the behind the scenes crew all did an excellent job and made the cruise smooth sailing.
"Organisation was good and would recommend...."
Organisation was good and would recommend.
"A First Class Experience"
Everything was fantastic, the organisation of the holiday, from leaving home to delivering back again ran like clockwork. The standard of facilities, the information provided, the expertise of the cruise director and tour guides, the food on board and the hotels en route were all first class. We enjoyed our holiday very much.
"The whole experience from beginning to end was perfect"
The whole process from booking to arriving on boat was excellent.
The crew were helpful polite and happy.
Such a marvellous time
Thankyou all so much
Could not be faulted because everything was left to us to decide how much and what to participate in
The service was excellent. The staff were polite, helpful and friendly - a great asset to any organisation. The food was of a high quality which we both enjoyed. I didn't appreciate being 'downgraded' from cabin 202 to 101 without an explanation but that didn't spoil the rest of the holiday.
