"Five Star service at all times..."

Excellent service, from start to finish, made this a holiday to remember. Avalon Cruises always put the customer first, so from the chauffeur pick-up service, the quality of the hotels, the interesting and varied inclusive tours, not forgetting the cruise ship, gourmet food and the ever attentive crew, Avalon deliver a Five Star service!

A fantastic holiday, taking in the delights of Prague and Paris as well as a memorable seven days cruising on the Main, Rhine and Moselle rivers. Waking up every day to different scenery or locations was a great way to see so many interesting places. The cruise ship (Visionary) was a delight to stay on, we enjoyed a very roomy and spacious cabin with a comfortable bed. The quality of food on the cruise was excellent and the staff/crew were always attentive and friendly. 5 Star holiday and so many memories

The cruise as a whole was great and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Simona our cruise director was organized and did a great job. The cruise itinerary itself was not ideal. I felt we were rushed trying to travel the distances needed to get through the itinerary. Most days we had a few hours in town, then needed to rush back to the boat to leave for the next port, which on more than one day wasn't until the following day. While the cruising part is nice, most people are on a riverboat because it stops often at many local towns and cities. The entire stretch along the Main river was not as picturesque as the Rhine and Moselle and there was much too much time spent on the boat and not out discovering and exploring the cities and towns. In addition, another element that added to the issues was that most of the time while traveling on the boat, the sky deck was closed due to the many locks we had to go through...so not only were you stuck traveling for lengthy periods of time, but you had to do it from inside the boat....not ideal. Lastly - the wifi was horrible on the ship. At one point it was out altogether, but most of the time there was just a bad signal....so we were on the boat for extended periods of time where we couldn't be outside and there was no wifi to use devices or contact family back at home. The cities and towns we did get to see were great, there just weren't enough of them.

Itinerary was too much boat time, without an outdoor area, and not enough time in each city/town

First class service from booking right through to return flight home. Enjoyed two nights in Prague at the beginning and Paris at the end, but the cruise itself exceeded our expectations.

Organisation, and service delivery are all excellent. A beautiful way to travel. Slightly let down by the size of the bath towels and of the bathrobes

Transfers all smoothly organised. Cruise director and staff are top notch.

The only problem with the ship was the 8" (20cm) rise on each step of the stairs in the central foyer. On every other ship we've been on, and all buildings, the rise of is no more than 6" (15cm). I saw one lady trip up when carrying her ice bucket and as most passengers are over a certain age the rise is too great.

It was a combination of several things we've never done. We'd not been to Prague so it was a great opportunity to spend a good time there, we hadn't done that section of the rivers and nor had we been on a TGV - so it was very good.
