Organisation, and service delivery are all excellent. A beautiful way to travel. Slightly let down by the size of the bath towels and of the bathrobes
Transfers all smoothly organised. Cruise director and staff are top notch.

The only problem with the ship was the 8" (20cm) rise on each step of the stairs in the central foyer. On every other ship we've been on, and all buildings, the rise of is no more than 6" (15cm). I saw one lady trip up when carrying her ice bucket and as most passengers are over a certain age the rise is too great.
It was a combination of several things we've never done. We'd not been to Prague so it was a great opportunity to spend a good time there, we hadn't done that section of the rivers and nor had we been on a TGV - so it was very good.

This was our third river cruise with Avalon and as with the other two this was delightful with an efficient and caring Cruise Director who worked with a pleasant and caring crew.
A most enjoyable cruise with the expected super accommodation, food and all comforts. We recommend Avalon to people we know who are thinking about river cruises.
"My service feedback with Avalon Cruises"
Everything superb, except service at breakfast in Paris Pullman Hotel
Paris Pullman Hotel was a let down after Intercontinental Prague and the Cruise boat. Hotel room was noisy. Disabled shower, but no bath. Crowded breakfast.

felt thoroughly spoilt from being picked up at the door to being dropped off at Paris airport. disappointed with condition and level of service of taxi ride from Bristol airport: 2 wrong turns and limited English, car was well worn, smelt of stale smoke and driver did not instil confidence when he was plugging in his phone charger approaching a roundabout where he had to brake sharply: a complete contrast to our outward journey.
just the right amount of time in the cities and on the cruise. ship staff were excellent and the cabin was lovely. A super selection of quality toiletries. The only thing I would have liked was an ironing room to press our clothes as they were rather crumpled after being in the suitcase so long.

I feel that the whole Avalon experience was excellent throughout but the extra cost of flying from Edinburgh was high at £400 pp above the cost of the cruise alone.

"My service feedback with Avalon Cruises"
Generally very good
Overall very good, especially Nancy, the rep at the Hilton in Prague, and Tony, the Cruise Director who were both excellent. Disappointed that the dining room staff on the ship did not react to the arrival of another Avalon ship alongside, blocking the river view where they had set the tables, just as lunch was starting in Rudesheim, when the view on the landside was of a very pleasant park and a flock of swans. Hotel in Paris, although superficially "grand", is not 5 star and not up to Avalon standards. Decor chipped and tired. We had no hot water in our hand basin and the hotel couldn't fix it and eventually changed our room - after more than 24 hours! Also, they are unable to make tea properly nor did they have any muesli among the breakfast cereal selections. Finally, the Avalon desk was advertised as being open until midday on Saturday but was closed when we checked out just before eleven!
