6th August 2018 - Mr Michael Rees

Booking was self explanatory, pain free. I would consider using Avalon again.

Even though the Danube was low in places, the tour manager Jerome obviously worked hard behind the scenes to make up for any missing parts of the itinerary, keeping us up to date with any changes. A concert in Vienna was included free to make up for disruption, and was a wonderful evening.Food on board reflected local tastes. Sometimes a little bit of miss, but this maybe partly due to individual tastes. Overall a really good experience.

"A wonderful experience on the Danube"

30th July 2018 - Trusted Customer

I rang Avalon and booked over the phone. They were helpful and it was quick and easy.

Even though we missed Nuremberg due to the low water levels in the Danube, we enjoyed the time in Passau and Linz, the latter was a bonus. We loved the slow walker tours and also the flexibility that we didn't have to take the tours if we didn't want to. The opportunity of cruising during the day time seeing the river was also brilliant.

"The way the whole trip was organised without being intrusive was great. The crew onboard..."

25th June 2018 - Mrs Frances Capel

The way the whole trip was organised without being intrusive was great. The crew onboard were exceptionally friendly, efficient and obviously well trained. The excursions included had great local guides. My only slight disappointed, was that i thought the bar drinks were far too expensive and we relied on the happy hour for a social drink. The inluded wine with our meals however were very good.

See above comments. The cruise was great, liked the destinations on route. Our cabin was very comfortable and loved the floor to ceiling patio windows. Ensuite was excellent.

"This was our first ever cruise and we were a bit hesitant about what to..."

25th June 2018 - Mr Alan Hutchinson

This was our first ever cruise and we were a bit hesitant about what to expect. This anxiety was soon rectified when we arrived on the boat. A great reception, a great room and the whole crew, waiting staff, stateroom cleaners and cruise director were all so friendly and helpful. The whole ship was so clean and accessible. Thank you Avalon for a wonderful first experience we will be back.

The cruise was full of options. We could participate or do our own thing. To do every guided tour was a bit hectic for us old ones but we kept up. We loved the scenery.

"Everything was near enough perfect once we boarded the ship. Organisation was excellent and..."

6th June 2018 - Mr Stuart Potter

Everything was near enough perfect once we boarded the ship. Organisation was excellent and the whole crew was fabulous. Only downside was the flights. There are direct flights from Manchester to Prague and from Budapest back to Manchester but you organised flights with Lufthansa with changes in Frankfurt and a 4 hr+ wait in Frankfurt on the return.

The cruise was most enjoyable. The excursions were really interesting and the guides very good. Food and drink was excellent with an emphasis on local dishes to where we stopped. As mentioned before, we would have much preferred direct flights.

"They were very professional and quick to answer queries...."

15th November 2017 - Trusted Customer

They were very professional and quick to answer queries.

Excellent service - local staff vg. Two minor management gripes 1. The cost of non inclusive trips was disproportionately expensive. Yes you have a cash rich clientele on holiday but some of the prices were double what was available locally 2. Sort out tipping. We paid in advance, according to your literature this covered everybody including the Cruise Director. She (Katy - excellent) believed as she was s/e it did not include her and sent an envelope round. Unnecessary miscommunication.
